Ruakaka BESS Battery Compound

RH Fire has been engaged to provide detailed design of the sprinkler and fire alarm systems for the new O&M Maintenance Building and Switch Station. The scope also includes designing the site-wide firefighting infrastructure, such as external fire hydrant located strategically around the BESS Battery Compound Site for Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) use and as a water source for the BESS unit container deluge system. RH Fire is also responsible for submitting the design parameter application to the Sprinkler System Certifier and coordinating with FENZ on the fire service attendance point and fire truck hardstanding location.

The sprinkler, fire hydrant, and fire alarm systems are being developed in 3D. Additionally, RH Fire has been commissioned to review the fire contractor's shop drawings, material datasheets, and completion documentation, as well as attending workshop meetings to ensure that the installation complies with relevant standards and fire protection specifications.
